Besides, these programmes have caused feeling of prejudice to the maintenance of harmony and public peace.. The Cable TV Act doesn’t apply to these channels”.After briefly gagging local newspapers through undeclared curbs, creating hostile conditions for the reporters and camerapersons working for various media national and international organisations and snapping or curtailing Internet and mobile telephony services, the authorities in Kashmir have now asked cable TV operators to stop airing five channels in the restive Valley.
